Manage computing and information systems for student services related functions within Continuing & Professional Education (CPE). Research, design and implement new computing applications, some of which interface with existing applications used by the University (e.g. PeopleSoft SIS and UMassOnline distance education platforms). Conduct user training for SIS; manage online registration systems for students registering through CPE; coordinate CPE web site content; direct quality assurance efforts for students' enrollment, billing, and academic records as well as other electronic student records in CPE’s custody. Perform data analysis and reporting. Represent CPE on University committees dealing with the student services aspects of SIS.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in IS/IT, Computer Science, Communications or related field plus 3-5 years related administrative or computing experience, or Master’s degree plus two years related experience. Work experience in a higher education setting preferred.
Demonstrated experience with: a complex business application, as a programmer and/or analyst;
PeopleSoft application, particularly their Student Information System, preferred; a broad range
of computing environments and systems, especially PC and client/server systems; supporting a
broad range of clients (all organizational levels, technical and non-technical) in a customer-oriented position. Demonstrated knowledge of: current PC hardware; project management
techniques; developing and writing specifications for software and hardware purchase or
customization; programming, and database tools such as MS Access, SQL, Delphi, Java; end-
user reporting and analysis tools (PeopleSoft Query and/or Crystal Reports skills preferred);
PC applications and operating systems such as Windows and MS Office; training skills to
convey skills and knowledge to others. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The Hiring Salary Range $46,700-$58,300 (normal starting salary $46,700-$52,500).
