Associate Registrar for Research

A key leadership opportunity is available in the Dartmouth College Office of the Registrar in Hanover, New Hampshire for an Associate Registrar for Research. In this central position you will help to support college-wide research and reporting initiatives in the Arts and Sciences, to conduct research and reporting of student enrollment and academic data and to administer the college-wide online course assessment process. The Associate Registrar coordinates and manages the course and seminar election processes, enrollment pattern selection and assignment processes, student academic transcripts including honors calculations, and departmental IT services. This position reports to the College Registrar.
The right person will bring to Dartmouth College the following experience:
- Demonstrated skill in data collection and analysis from complex information technology systems
- Prior IT experience with an integrated student information system preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manipulate data files using reporting tools. Experience with Oracle Discoverer or similar reporting tool required
- Experience with SQL and SAS or SPSS preferred
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student, faculty and staff constituencies
- Demonstrated ability to exercise judgment, exhibit flexibility, and learn new technologies
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Minimum of five years of experience in higher education student systems administration, or equivalent experience in research/reporting
- Programming experience preferred
- Knowledge of Sungard Banner Student System useful
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
